When they entered the town, they saw that it was full of men and women, and that they all wore clothes made of peacocks' feathers, and that these were evidently considered fine things, for every place was covered with them. They met the King, who was driving in a beautiful little carriage of gold, studded with diamonds, and drawn by twelve peacocks at full gallop. But later Johnny sat on the top of the hill and sang, “Yes we love our grand old Norway,” with the greatest enthusiasm, he was so overflowing with joy. Oh, dear! How embarrassing it was—perfectly horrid! And how they roared again as he came on to the wharf! “You sure?” demanded Ted. “I wonder how in thunder they drifted into this here party.
