Fleda pondered a moment. "If she did go back that night you would have heard from Waterbath by this time." That vision settled before her—in the house the house was all; and as the train drew up she rose, in her mean compartment, quite proudly erect with the thought that all for Fleda Vetch then the house was standing there.
