Another fear assailed him; would he, too, collapse, leave the little girls alone with the terror of two senseless boys? But Mrs. Bennett wasn’t blaming any one; she didn’t really know what the excitement was all about. Mrs. Wopp, as was usual at the morning meal, appeared with her greyish-red hair tortured with curl papers.
