There was something more than comradeship between Jerry and the tall cattleman; it was more the relation of a younger and elder brother. From this hesitating manner Bob knew that Jerry was guilty. There was no better luck this time and when he came again to the door he was ready to admit defeat. “Don’t bother about the oars,” said Bob, his voice echoing from the walls of the passage. “It’s too dark for ’em.
