For a moment Betty stood in an attitude of dejection, but suddenly her face brightened. Betty comforted him with a gum-drop that had lain neglected in her pocket for several weeks, and the cries ceased. When Edith planned to turn her pupils’ recital into a great Spring Festival, for the benefit of the sufferers, all the town applauded, and asked how it could help. Why, it was going to be fine to work!
