The travellers passed on; he righted his wheel and began his slow, painful way home. It was too bad! There could be no show in the barn. But the band was still lusty, the trick ponies remained, the boys and girls were eager to talk it over, and—the procession had been a success! Directly the invalid’s querulous demand for the rancher was made, Moses started off to fetch him. “Some of the real stuff,” he requested, “just to make these folks realize they haven’t begun to live yet.” The Sheriff wondered at the boy’s vehemence, yet was too busy loading the wagon to pay much attention to him. “Think you’re fit, sonny?
