But no such excuse presents itself. Memory proves false. It refuses to assist him. He is almost in despair. To the old women Kŭt-o-yĭs´ then said, "Now, grandmothers, where are there any more people? I want to travel about and see them." When morning came he rose and wandered away, and whenever he met any of the animals he asked if they could tell him where the Thunder lived. Jerry recognized the type at once. It was a desert rat, one of those old men who, lured by the dream of gold, haunt the desert, usually alone. Years pass over their heads in the search which never ends. At last the gold mine that they will find some day becomes merely the excuse not the aim of the unending pilgrimage. The desert, the loneliness is claiming them. If they found a mine worth the developing, probably they would sell it and blow in the proceeds and be off again as soon as possible. They have been too long away from civilization for anything to surprise them. The desert is mysterious, the loneliness makes everything possible.I tried logging in using my phone number and I was supposed to get a verification code text, but didn't get it. I clicked resend a couple time, tried the "call me instead" option twice but didn't get a call either. the trouble shooting had no info on if the call me instead fails. There was “No, I do not believe he is.”

Then the two friends went home to the camp. "And I am to say 'pals' for friends, and call it pure English?" Into a breathless, dewy sleep; so still "I shall not be disappointed.
